The most noted painters of this movement were Matisse, Kirchner, Kandinsky, and Marc

The most famous paintings were: The Dessert: Harmony in Red by Matisse; View of Basel and the Rhine by Kirchner; Gold Trees by Kandinsky; and America Windows by Marc.
